Common questions

Straight answers about anonymity, data, setup, security and what it costs.

Most asked

Can organizers see how I voted? No. They see results, not who voted.
What does it cost?Free to start. Paid on results.
Do participants need an account? No. Just a link. No name or email.

Anonymity

Can organizers see how I voted?

No. Organizers see results, not who voted for what. Votes are never shown with a name.

Do participants need an account or an email?

No. People join from a link and vote. We don't ask for a name or email.

Can a small group be identified?

No. Groups of fewer than five are never shown, so no one can be picked out.

What if my organizer sent me a personal link?

They know who they sent it to. They still don't see how you voted.

How do you stop people gaming the vote?

Personal links, vote caps and pacing stop anyone pushing their own idea. People never see their own ideas in a vote.

What if someone posts something inappropriate?

People can flag an idea. By default three flags hide it and send it to the organizer. Organizers can change this to hide after one flag, or to keep it visible and be told.

Will my name appear next to my idea?

Only if your idea finishes in the top ten, the project has ended, and you agreed. Otherwise it stays anonymous.

Data

What do you store?

Votes, the ideas and comments people add, and a random code in a cookie so the site remembers them in that project. Organizers also have a name, email and project data.

Do you sell or share data?

We don't sell personal information, and there is no advertising or tracking across other sites. We may keep anonymized insights that do not identify any person or organization.

What are anonymized insights?

Numbers, patterns and themes drawn from how projects ran, with names, emails and organization names removed. They don't identify any person or organization, and we may keep them after a project is deleted.

Can I download my ideas?

Yes, at any time. Download them as a spreadsheet file, or share a read-only report link.

Which companies handle our data?

We use established providers for hosting, the database, email and contact messages. They are listed in our privacy page.

How do I delete a project?

Organizers can delete a project at any time. That removes its ideas, votes and people. Anonymized insights already produced may stay.

Setup

Do we need IT or any software?

No. You set up a project in the browser and share a link. It works on any phone or computer.

Do participants need to log in?

No.

Can I start with ideas already on the list?

Yes. We add a few starter ideas for the question you choose, so the first people to arrive have something to vote on. You can remove or replace them, and organizers see them tagged as starter ideas.

Can it work in other languages?

Yes for ideas: people can write in any language and the ranking works the same. The screens and emails are in English for now.

Can an agency or consultancy run it for clients?

Yes. Put each client’s name and colours on their project. A fuller agency version is planned. Tell us what you need on the Contact page.

How do we invite people?

Share the link anywhere: email, chat, a poster with a QR code or a text message. You can also send personal links so you can see who joined.

Can we use it with Slack or Teams?

Yes. Paste the link in a message and Slack, Teams and most phones show a preview card with the question and live counts. There is nothing to install.

Using it

What kind of question works?

One question with many good answers, such as “What one change would make our team work better together?” or “Which of these should we do first?”

Who can take part?

Anyone with the link: employees, partners or customers. Use personal links if you want to know who joined.

Does it work on phones?

Yes. Voting is built for phones first, and organizer pages work on any screen.

How long should a project run?

We suggest one week. You set the end date and can change it later.

How many people do we need?

We recommend 25 or more for a clear ranking. Smaller groups work for a quick test.

What do we get at the end?

A ranked list of ideas, themes, who took part by group, a shareable report, and a Decide step where the decision-maker approves ideas and owners write short plans. You finish with a result page you can forward. You can also have reviewers score the top ideas.

How are ideas sorted into themes?

Every project starts with vision lab themes, a ready-made set of workplace topics. Ideas are placed automatically, and a few may land in "to sort" when no theme fits. You can sort those yourself in the project's settings. You can add your own words to a theme, rename a theme (our name stays underneath), or turn a theme off. Turning one off never deletes ideas; they move to another theme or to sort.

What does it cost?

It is free to start. We do the work up front at no cost, and you pay when your leaders get ideas and results they can act on. Your CEO or decision-maker tells us what the result is worth, and we agree the amount in writing. See the pricing page or contact us for details.

Do I get an email when voting ends?

Yes. When voting closes we email you a short wrap-up.

Can I take the results with me?

Yes. Download the ideas as a spreadsheet file, or share a read-only report link.

Can I put it on our intranet?

Yes. You can embed a project on an intranet or public page, or share the link.

What is it not for?

It isn't a survey of how people feel, and it doesn't make the decision. It shows what people back, and your decision-maker decides.

Can I use the results for hiring or pay decisions?

No. Results show what a group thinks, not how good any person is. The terms don't allow using them for decisions about an individual's employment.

Security

Is our data encrypted?

Yes. The site runs over HTTPS. Our hosting provider encrypts stored data with AES-256, and our database provider encrypts databases at rest. Passwords and network addresses are stored in scrambled form.

What security standards do you rely on?

We build on providers that publish their own security standards. Our hosting provider holds SOC 2 Type 2 and ISO 27001, and our database and email providers hold SOC 2. These certifications cover their infrastructure, not vision lab itself.

What about enterprise security questions?

Send them to us and we’ll answer directly. Ask a security question.

Does it support single sign-on?

Not yet.

Free and beta

What does it cost?

Nothing to start. Simple projects are free while we are in beta. For larger or ongoing work we are paid on results: when a project gives your leaders ideas worth acting on, they tell us what that is worth. Nothing is owed unless you agree it in writing, and we never charge automatically.

What counts as a result?

Ideas your decision-maker greenlights, each with an owner and a date. That is what we work toward, so that is what we are paid for.

What is the beta?

Simple projects are free for everyone. The beta opens people lists, groups, your own branding and the Improve and Decide stages. We invite teams by hand: ask to join from your account and we reply as soon as we can.

Can we sign our own agreement?

Yes. We are happy to review your organization's terms. Send them to us and we will take it from there.
